| From the SLiB add-on - Stats by Jack Davidson | By Petros | ||||
New Mods:
Bugfixes/minor improvements:
- Black ship databars problem fixed
- Automatic showing of the name of the character you're facing (toggleable in BuildSettings.h)
- Invisible random items in land locations visible again
- Quick-equip button: Will equip a sword, gun and spyglass if you don't already have all of them equipped
-
Changed dialog for the French governor Joseph Claude le Moigne, so that it is
clear which dialog options are English warship quest related and which ones are
random pirate related. This should get rid of the confusion. Some other, even
more minor things were changed too
- Changed dialog for the Redmond portmaster Laurence Wellman, so that he knows
Rys's last name to be Bloom, instead of naming him Bloom, Blum and Boon. Again
to save confusion
- Changed dialog for Rys Bloom, so that it's clear that when you say "Really,
it's a big sum...", you do not hire him
- Toff Oremans gives you an excellent Saber of Nicholas Sharp instead of an
average one for rescuing his daughter from the pirate. This because in the stock
game, this used to be a very special gift, but since in Build 11/12 Sabers of
Nicholas Sharp are rather common (quite weird actually; I suppose there was just
one Nicholas Sharp) and it isn't a special gift at all anymore. Hope to have
changed that
- Dutch first rank named "2e Luitenant" instead of "Luitenant 2e", because that is how the real Dutch rank would be
- Malcolm Hatcher speaks again when skipping the tutorial
- Fred Bob questcheck added
-
Automatic showing of the name of the character you're facing (toggleable in
BuildSettings.h)
- Build 11 Dutch sails added so they can be selected as pirate sails. This
doesn't work for red whole and torn sails, nor for white torn sails
- Sword pick-pocketing (defaults to 1% in BS.h)
- When using PotC ModHelper, you look like Nathaniel Hawk instead of a red
animist (though it's just for testing purposes, it annoyed the heck out of me)
- Cheatmode added (toggleable in BS.h); Numpad buttons trigger the cheats.
- Music scheme options added. Supports default, Pirates Gold! Music and KiwisDoFly Ambience Pack
- Major Animist Quest Fix by CatalinaThePirate, including a new character skin and changed textures
- And a whole lot more!

- Shots fired from close do massive damage

- Normal cannons changed into Long Cannons, Culverines changed into Carronades
- Destroyable cannons/Cannon quantity (Nathan Kell):
- You ship's cannons can now be destroyed by the enemy and repaired again. You can also destroy your opponent's cannons
- Mod can be turned off in BuildSettings.h
Realistic spyglass mod (Kblack):
- With better spyglasses, you can see more ship info (like usual). You will now also need to close in on ships to gain more information through your spyglass.
- Mod has five settings in BuildSettings.h:
1) Off
2) Fun: Not too hard, for beginners
3) Realistic: Values as near as reality as it can, adjusted to the distances of the game
4) Hard: For experts - very few info, very inaccurate, need to close
5) Tuned: The mod will use the values set in BuildSettings.h
Surrender mod (Nathan Kell):
- Enemy ships that are outmatched can now choose to surrender without you having to board them first. They will stop firing and will surrender on boarding. They won't take damage from enemy's, but you can still sink them. You can see if an enemy ship has surrendered through your spyglass
Itemtrading (Nathan Kell):

- When equipping armor on the Blaze, Blaze_NB, Depp, Pirat11 or Will skins, it will show on the model
Stormy Start (Couchcaptain Charles):
Tired
of starting the game at always the same place, of always listening to Malcolm's
prattling, of always buying a spyglass and selling leather for a start? Not to
mention seeing the French invasion for the umpteenth time. Well, I was, so I
made this mod so that every start of the game will be a fresh challenge under
different conditions.
Stormy Start adds an OPTION to Malcolm's initial dialog: you can cut him short
and order to leave Oxbay port right away. As there is supposed to be storm
raging which you have to ride out you will be driven to some desolate and
possibly hostile beach with a possibly damaged ship and crew. As compensation
you will have an (always changing) inventory of weapons and gadgets, and a cargo
of contraband goods. Smugglers and those formerly only pesky highwaymen may help
you out of your dilemma.

Special Weapons Assemply Kit (Couchcaptain Charles)
- Several new weapons (see "items" section above)
- Fast-equip keys for cobblestone, stinkpot, etherbottle and grenade
- For more info: Read the file in the buildinfo folder
Captain's Challenge (Couchcaptain Charles):
- Realistic ship repair:
- The quick-repair perk can now only be used at safe anchorages; not in mid-battle
- Time a shipwright requires to repair your ship is now based on the amount of work
- You can provide your boarding crew with better weapons by placing them in the weapons locker in your cabin
- Boarding changed: Sailors begin on their own ship
- Boarder models can be set
- Firedrill: If you ships catches fire, you can execute a firedrill to put out the fire (only with basic shipdefence ability)
- Prisoners need to be ransomed on land; you can toggle in BuildSettings.h that they need to be ransomed at their home island
- Prisoners can only be released (for no money) at sea
- For more info: Read the file in the buildinfo folder
- Mods can be turned off in BuildSettings.h
Greater Oxbay (Couchcaptain Charles):
- New
locations in Oxbay and Greenford, including suburbs, some new houses, a "Maltese
Abbey" with crypt and undercroft, an armoury, and forts that you can access and
raid from the landside.
- A few secret passages between the various dungeons and mines.
- Sneak into the forts:
- Expect some fierce opposition as they are supposed to be out of bounds for all civilians, even English privateers.
- Apart from the garrison there are certain key characters. If you capture one of those you may coax some reward out of them.
- If you capture the "Royal envoy", you can force him to surrender the town to you.
- Several locations have got additional treasure spots, so it pays to search them carefully.
- All town guards patrol through the streets now.
- People might address you instead of you having to address them
- For more info: Read the file in the buildinfo folder
-
Update:
new Oxbay and Greenford locations, particularly The Maltese Abbey which has
multi-level
dungeons/crypt, more treasures and some very dangerous enemies.
Random locations (Couchcaptain Charles):
- If you try to open a locked door, you will be transported to a random location behind the door
- Random locations include houses, inns, mansions, bedrooms, etc.
- Mod turned off by default, because it causes some strange bugs
- For more info: Read the file in the buildinfo folder
Building Set (CouchCaptainCharles)
- Enables construction of new buldings in most locations. Fortifications,
houses, farms, mines, foundries, rum
distilleries, etc
New World Map Ships (CouchCaptainCharles)
- New ship models for the World map with distinct shiptype models for each
nation:
- Player shipmodel: corvette
- Dutch : fleut
- Portuguese : caravel
- Pirates : xebec
- British : battleship
- French : frigate
- Spanish : galleon
- Speed tweak for world map
New Islands (Screwface)
- Adds many new islands and locations. Still under development by Screwface
and CouchCaptainCharles
Random Treasure Generator (Screwface)
- Random NPCs generate treasure quests. You may have to fight pirates at the
treasure location
New Ship Decks (Screwface)
- Adds new cabin models, small, medium and large, based on ship class
- Adds crew quarters. You can now interact with your crew members here
- Adds gun deck and cargo deck based on ship class
Crew Shore Parties (Screwface)
- Crew members (in addition to officers) can accompany you on shore. Talk to
them in crew quarters to activate. You can provide them with weapons, clothes
and items. The archipelago is now more dangerous with military raids or ambushes
by pirates, natives, escaped slaves in jungles or shores.
Corsairs III Models (Maximus)
- Adds two new large cabin models
- Adds new room for bordellos
KK Mod Version 1.1
- Boardable Black Pearl. The Black Pearl can be captured in the Battle of
Khael Roa, however only after using the artefact.
- Nathaniel's own flag. If RaiseFlag mod is used the "Neutral" button on
International Affairs is changed to "N.H. Flag" (if someone has changed the name
for main character, N.H. will change to his/her initials).
- Removed blocking of the food check. At some point the check for wheat and rum
consumed by crew was turned off and never switched back. I removed this
completely and added wheat and rum cargo to ships on which Nathaniel would leave
Douwesen.
- Proper icons for ships during 3D sailing mode.
- Warships have 44 guns.
- Modifications in main plot following the storm which dumps Nathaniel in
Douwesen with no ship.
Few
character models switched:
- Cursed pirates changed into Mr. Blair (Cutthroat Island) and Captain Barbossa (Pirates of the Caribbean); I found it really annoying that they didn't
look like cursed pirates or even pirates at all
- pirat10 and pirat11 skins switched, so the pirate captains don't use the Barbossa skin, but the black version instead; after all: There are not supposed
to be 100 Barbossa's, right?
- Gregor Samsa (Oxbay Port) given the Greybeard skin as he's supposedly an
old man and shouldn't be a real Barbossa look-a-like
- Artois Voysey and Nigel Blythe changed in their evil twin skins
And a whole lot more mods that I can't remember or can't bother to also mention, because I've run out of time to write this page
